As part of training we offer a Quality Awareness Programme (QAP) to both potential and existing Childminders.
The purpose of the QAP is to:
- Provide participants with an awareness of the issues involved in the provision of a quality Childminding Service
- Enhance the knowledge , skills and professional status of Childminders
- Develop the Childminder’s confidence and motivation
- Encourage networking of childminders in the locality
- Become eligible to apply for the Childminders Development Grant of up to €1,000
There are 5 modules:
- Why Choose Childminding
- Child Development – An Overview
- Hygiene, Health and Safety
- Well-being of Children
- Play
The QAP is delivered over 2 days. It is free to childminders and is an ideal opportunity to upgrade skills and meet other childminders.
Participants are not required to complete examinations or carry out assessments on this course.
Childminders interested in applying for the grant of €1000 MUST complete this course.
