Mission Statement

To encourage and co-ordinate the development of child-centred, flexible, accessible childcare in South Tipperary that offers a choice of a high quality service for all in a stable secure environment.

The South Tipperary County Childcare Committee is responsible for the co-ordinated approach to the improvement of childcare services in the region. The focus of STCCC during 2007 – 2010 will be to successfully implement the National Childcare Investment Programme (NCIP) by meeting its targets and objectives. The overall aim of this programme is to produce more childcare places that are accessible to all in response to the local need. The key objectives of STCCC are as follows:

  • Boost childcare provision
  • Improve quality standards
  • Support childminders
  • Promote childcare issues and provide information
  • Encourage and promote training
  • Co-ordinate strategy and monitor delivery

South Tipperary County Childcare Committee (STCCC) is one of 33 childcare committees established under the National Development plan (NDP), to take a co-ordinated approach to quality childcare which is delivered at a local level. STCCC was established in 2002 as a limited company and consists of a broad representation of stakeholders who are playing an active role in the implementation of the Then National Children’s Strategy and the National Childcare strategy. These stakeholders are representatives from the Statutory, voluntary/community and childcare sectors.
